Supernatural movies

Traile research:

We have researched different trailers for supernatural horror movies to give some breif inspirational  ideas to use for our own groups trailer.
We did this because we want our trailer to be effective so that it can signifies terror and shock that we want our target audience to discover in our trailer.

We looked at the conventions on different horror trailers on youtube and it did provide some usefull information about supernatural horror movies.

Trailers:
we looked at:
Scream movies- the connotation of the movie is slasher. The denotation of this movie is use of stabing and blood.
As a group we dilebriated that we obviously need blood for own trailer and when to use blood.

Saw movies- the connotation of this movie is thriller. The denotation is also use of graphical violence, stabbing and grusome blood.

The women in black- the connotation for this movie trailer is horror. The denotation is mainly used for threats and deaths.

Looking back at these trailers, we thought we would like to add some of these denotation that has been used for these trailers.
For example: use blood and death for our trailer. The reason for this is so it is based on the genre and to make our trailer understandle of what this film might be based on.

my individual music video

The storyline of the music video

There are two characters that have their own individual scenes. One of the character dreams to be a boxer and the other character hoping to be a ballerina. The music video is very understandable. Firstly, it shows a deaf ballerina signed in the competition to become successful in ballet, however she deliberately gets left out by other ballerinas which shows that she is lonely and it distracts her while she is dancing. In the end of the song when she does her final performance in front of the judges, she tries to ignores everything and she  becomes more confident. She impresses the judges and  achieves to be an outstanding ballet and smiles in delight.  The Script and Will.I.AM is obviously in the background who is singing for support. Another scene of a boy who wants to become a boxer gets physically beaten up at the beginning of the story. He then enters to the gym with a bruised, injured face after he got assaulted. His manager forces him to train harder so he does. At the end of the story, he receives a champion belt after won the match.
The backing actors and backgrounds.
There are instruments played in the background by the other members from the script in the same place as Danny (from script) and Will is singing.
There are two gangs of bullies in the background.
One of the bullies are 3 group of boys attacks the boy (boxer).
The other are group of ballerina girls who socially insults the girl (ballerina) by leaving her out and making her feel that she cant participate.
In the beginning of the scene, both characters get some support from their parents.
The ballerina get support from her dad.
The boxer get support from his mum.
There are also a manager in some parts of the scene that trains the boy to become an international boxer.

The inspirational of the music video
I have chosen The Script ft. Will.I.Am- Hall of fame as one of my preferred song so far this year. This is because the music video inspires me, the lyrics shares messages and I like the melody all the way through the song.
I like the music video because the colours are dark and dulI, I like the lyrics in the song because it talks about not giving up and everyone can be a champion at the end for trying hard in life which affects a lot of people especially the part when they sing “dedicate yourself and you can find yourself standing in the hall of fame”.
Another reason I appreciate this song because I like the sound of the melody and the rhythm of the song as it is plays along.
This is because the beats are played calmly and more slowly.

Magazine Analysis 1:

Main Image:
Celebrity singer (Katy Perry ) a celebrity magazine, fashion magazine, news magazine. The main image is not looking at the camera, talking to another celebrity, (so encorouge the audience to find out who the main image is talking to by reading inside)
The way the main image is posing and how they look:
The main image is not posing at all and this shows the audience how sensible and appropriete this magazine can be. The main image is wearing a long peach dress looking beautiful which connotates glamour. She is not posing due to the fact she is looking away from the camera because she might communicate with another person. Furthermore she looks like she is nominated for an award (or at a award ceramony) and may walk towards the stage.
Target Audience:
Target audience baased on teenage girls or young women from the age of 13.
(young women are more into magazines). This is because the links that has been on the magazines are gossips of celebrity's. Also we can identify the colour scheme of this magazine that it is bright such aa blue pink yellow. In addition it show in the sides of the magazine some clothings and accessories ingluding skirts bags and dresses.
Title of the magazine:
The magazin is called Gratzia
This means the word "fashion" in italian. The reason why this name has been chosen to be the main title is because it is unique.
Main cover:
Looks very glamorous and very fashionable showing lots of little icons in the magazines.
(young women are very inpired by glamour and use this magazine to influence them)
What's inside:
Gossips (to make the audience read more inside), Images to be eye-catching. cloths to see whats in store and celebrity news to see the latest storyline.
Fonts:
Very big bright and bold font (lots of colour to engage women to look) to persuade to buy the magazine.
Any props:
lots of costumes and props such as dresses, hats, make-up, shoes, perfumes (fashion clothing to engage women to look at as they are interested in clothings.)
standouts:
Very bold and looks 3D so this could attract consumers to buy as the writing in this magazine is coming toward female to purchase.
Colour:
Lots of bright multicolours (red, blue, white, pink, very femenism)
slighty black
(hardly any dark colours because dark colours could be a different sign to bright colours so will not inspire the audience) bright colours to make the magazine attractive.
(women like bright colours. some shiny colours too)

My favourite music video's

Beyonce: Run the world
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBmMU_iwe6U&ob=av2
This is one of my favorite song and video.
The advantages of this is that it has really good choriography.
The lyrics match with the storyline in the music video, the settings and backrounds are bold.
There are different location in this music video.
The location in the music video is full of sand.

Jessie J: Price Tag
This video is also one of my favorite. This is because, the backround has different colours.
The artist wear different outfits in every scene.
It has different storylines.
It also includes american rapper B.O.B in the final part of the scene.

Drake ft Rihanna: Take care
I like this music video because the lyrics matche's with the video.
It is also emotional. It has lack of colours.
The colour theme is only black and white.
Not many light colours.

Take That: Rule the world
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KII1ruAfvsg
The best thing about this video is that the location is set in only one place which is inside a studio instead of setting different places.
The colours are dark and bold.
It connect all members together.

Advertysing Analasis of the Midnight Poison (Dior) campaign

The advertisement that i have chosen is called Midnight Poison, followed by the company Dior. The product of this advertisement is a perfume bottle.

The advert has been set with a female modeler wearing a dark blue dress posing inside a bright crystal room with broken mirrors flashing across the room in the middle of the night.

The modeler uses different facial expression while shes posing, (one half of the scene is when she's scary, the other half is when she's smiling for some certain reason).Due to this might be first reason why this realates to the advert title. The attraction of her facial expression is when she uses a suprising, terrifying vampire looks towards the audience. Most public might find this modaler glamerous. The campaigner uses this image because of the word "Midnight Poison" represents something frightning and grusome. The soundtrack tension is dramatic but gently smooth. This might be one way to persuade the audience to buy this product because of the music.

The location has been set inside a single room with flashing lights and broken peices of tiny glasses raining on the modeler. She then rans into a big posh palace and decides to play around with formal public, (looks more like papparazzi's).

The narrative of this advert starts of with a women posing in a long dark blue expenssive dress while the time in the clock is ticking from 1 hour to another hour. She rushes upstairs to get inside the hall and entertain herself while the whole nation watches her. The clock then breaks into small pieces. The story ends with an appearence of a beuty blue bottle called Midnight Poison. The decoration of the bottle is plain blue with a pump to bring the liquid spray out. This is another reason why campaigners advertise this on audience television because of the decoration thats been plotted on the bottle.

The garment thats been worn on the modeler is a long blue maxidress. The director chooses this to attract the audience to buy this product because of the costume.

The colour scheme of the dress (blue) connotating danger and horror. This might represent the logo name "Midnight Poison" which explains to the audience that blue can represents danger.

In the begining of the story, the camera angle starts of with a close up. Then the angles move to different directions (close up, bottom angle, top angle). The camera angles moves very quickly.

The apropriete age and gender for this product will defently inspire females aged 18 and above. The ethnicity for this product can be releated to any ethnicity. The campaigners who directs this product makes alot of money because this product is based on more than one ethnicity.

This product is mainly been placed in womens store shops (boots, superdrugs). Campaingers does this so women can find it more easier to buy the product if they had this perfume in a women small shops.
